She's such a gem to work with. To say nothing of the PHOTOS. I knew I didn't want a bright, white, staged photo gallery. I had a rustic-chic fall mountain wedding, and I wanted the photos to fit the theme... and did they ever! Kenzie has an eye for dramatic, intimate and unstaged photos - exactly what we wanted. She captured the intimate moments, and my favorite photos are the ones I didn't even realize she took. Kenzie and Nick will literally stop at nothing to get "the shot". My husband and I had some alternative ideas for our engagement pictures and Kenz went right along with anything we suggested, she was up for anything! "We got Kenz and Nick for our wedding from another photographer and we were SOOOO happy they captured our wedding day for us! My now wife hates being photographed and is more than a little modest. We planned on having Kenz do her photos getting ready but after she met Nick and talked to him for a moment she said 'I’m comfortable with Nick shooting me while I get ready.' Thats just how Kenz and Nick are. Laid back, go with the flow, welcoming, open, and amazing people! When Kenz asks you to do something that you might think strange DO IT! She had us stand in a basement window well and they are some of the most unique photos of us!! Kenz grabbed us at sunset to make sure we got pictures with the sun going down behind us and the lighting just right! We even did photos with our dogs (who didn’t want to behave) but Kenz just went with it and got some beautiful pictures of our fur babies! Our wedding was an all night event and a few hours after Kenz and Nick left for the night she sent me a couple SNEAK PEAKS! If you need an awesome set of photographers you have found them! “It was love at first Instagram sight...& yes I’m talking about our photographers. We are an out of state couple getting married in Denver, and while stalking the internet for all things wedding related, stumbled on Kenz & Nick. After a deep dive of their social media, we took the plunge and wrote an email. Longest story shorter- Kenzie ended up meeting us in NYC to take our engagement pictures. We were a little nervous about taking pictures in the streets of a city that Kenzie didn’t really know , BUT YOU GUYS- she’s incredible. From the moment we met her, we were comfortable, in the way you are comfortable with a friend you see once a year. We spent a few hours of our morning all over the city, and did I mention it was the weekend of the “Arctic chill” ?? Well it was, (I’m talking -20 degrees), and she CRUSHED IT. “Kenz & Nick shot our engagement pics at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs and they’re shooting our wedding in February. I’ve gotten TONS of compliments on our engagement pictures so I know the wedding pics will be amazing too. The two things I wanted in a wedding photographer were: 1) Someone who made us feel comfortable so we had fun and didn’t end up looking awkward or overly posed; and 2) Someone who does unique photos that aren’t cheesy. I wanted artsy photos that I’d actually want framed in my home because they’re truly beautiful photographs, not just because they’re our wedding pictures. Kenz & Nick did just that! The scenery around us looked so cool and unique from anything I’ve ever seen in engagement pictures, and we don’t look awkward or overly posed. They work well together, make you feel comfortable and give good direction. They’re also down to go the extra mile for awesome pics. It ended up snowing on us and we still went all over the park, climbed up rocks, and got several different looks in. “I can not say enough amazing things! I met Kenzie when she was beginning her photography journey and HOT DAMN! she has really come into her own!! Though we did not have the pleasure of having Nick on our shoot, Kenzie was extremely fun, professional, and open to all ideas! Not only did she make a snowy 10degree mountain shoot incredibly fun, but she made the entire experience memorable for both me and my fiance. She took us to the most perfect venue, shot what she needed in just an hour or so, and that night we had sneak peek edited photos to share out with our family. She even offered to drive us home after we drank a little too much whiskey to keep warm ;) We had all of our photos back to us quickly and they are absolutely STUNNING. Inviting Kenzie and Nick along for our engagement session and wedding day was the perfect decision. Knowing when to give directions for shots, organizing family members for the best picture, or falling into the background for candid photo opportunities is something these two did seamlessly. “My husband and I were married on December 2nd, 2017 in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis holds a special place in our hearts as it is where we met as well as my husbands hometown. “To be clear, Kenzie is a dear old friend. I met her boyfriend and photography partner, Nick, a few years back while staying with them during a climbing trip in Colorado. “Let me start off by saying I LITERALLY hate having my picture taken. And my partner is the exact same. Pre-engagement, we only had a handful taken together (out of 4 years).
